Éva Circé-Côté French Immersion Public School

2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

At ECC this year we will continue to focus on building healthy relationships, beginning with our relationships with ourselves.

We are doing this because students who can choose healthy thoughts, manage their emotions, and behave respectfully become strong partners in creating safe and inclusive schools.   Kids need help to develop these skills.  They need instruction, guidance, and support from their school, family, and others who influence their development.

Key Actions or Strategies

  1. Facilitating conversations on healthy relationships.
  2. Engaging with our community partners and families/guardians about fostering healthy relationships
  3. Acknowledging positive acts that build healthy relationships with the school community and beyond.
  4. Using common language and restorative conversations.
  5. Initiating a Student Social Group to have a safe space where students can work through conflicts.

Community and Home Connections

·      Use a survey to collect data from parents and caregivers.  We will seek to understand what they are struggling with, what they need, and they think the SISP team should know to best support them to support their children.

·      Use the Restorative Practices Handbook to run a book club for the SISP team and any additional parents / caregivers who may be interested in joining, with the goal of creating more understanding of, support for, and application of the restorative practices approach
